A Korean-American in LA Called a Fortune Teller Back Home

In Korean-American circles, one question keeps coming up: who do you call back home for a real saju reading? For me the answer turned out to be Taeja Sindang, a well-known house in Seoul — and I did the whole thing from Los Angeles, over a KakaoTalk call.

The call itself

When the voice call came through on reading day, I was oddly nervous — something about being connected across the Pacific. But the voice was calm and I settled quickly. They confirmed my birth date and time, then gently asked what was weighing on me the most.
